Good Morning, Recently I believe God spoke to me through circumstances and situations happening around me. My house is currently going through renovations as it relates to walls, ceiling and floors that were damaged every since Hurricane Ida- resources has been made available for the work to began. A few of the processes are near finished and its been educational naturally and even spiritually watching the steps of Restoration take place. The Contractors began the work by tearing and ripping my floors, walls, and ceilings up- literally made some what of an eye sore in my house. I took comfort in knowing that this was absolutely necessary in order to get the actual product that’s desired. These guys are skillful and have done this time and time again – I just trusted that they know what they are doing because they in actuality are the experts. The next day after one of the demolitions – they began to go back with the floor, the walls, and the paint. I was amazed at how beautiful it began to look- and was even more appreciative of the process.
Suddenly it hit me like a ton of bricks – Isn’t this how according to scripture examples many times God works with us… Before he can do what He wants to do with us – he has to tear that old decayed stuff out of us so that he can restore us with the version of who he created us to be.. Old things are literally passed away and all things becoming New in our life that we may live a restored, refreshed, vibrant life that gives honor to All that He is.. I remember the words of King David – this guy was considered “A man after God’s own heart” – he had experienced some very triumphant moments such as his Victory over Goliath, which was followed by many other incredible accolades. Yet after all that – he found himself in a slump, some kind of way from one point to another his perspective was not reflective of a man after God’s own heart. When he was confronted with it – his habit of being accountable to himself and God surfaced and he cried out to God (The Trusted Expert) in one of his prayers recorded in Psalm 51:12 “RESTORE to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit”. WOW that speaks Volumes RESTORE- Lord tear out of me anything that’s not reflective of your Majestic Image and UPHOLD me – God Keep me accountable to Who you are and how you’ve created me to Live.. My prayer and I hope everyone prayer should be that of the example that David left – Lord Restore me where needed and keep me accountable to all that’s Good, complete, and Whole!!!
